Your Hosts :- The Brubachers
Warren and Janice's home and their guest chalet reflect their warm, charming hospitality and 'layed-back lifestyle.' Married in B.C. in the 70's, the Brubachers travelled east to Nova Scotia to take up land, where they lived close to the earth, honing their skills in organic gardening, horse logging, log home building and creative self-sufficency.

Our conceirge 'Bella' meets and greets all our guests.

Those 'back-to-the-land' skills and  love of the great outdoors, brought Warren and Janice back home to the West Coast of British Columbia, and Tantalus View Retreat was created.....a 3 acre haven .  Simplify your life for a short time...come... relax and rejuvenate in a refuge of quiet beauty and peaceful vistas.

" It's  this promise of artistry and hospitality unfolding on an impressive homestead in the bush, that lures us off the highway"

The Retreat-

Organic Gardens :

Janice's garden is a palette of colour and texture combining vegetables, herbs, berries and flowers. Sample some 'fresh-from-the-vine' crunchy edible pod peas, or a few 'melt-in-your-mouth' strawberries from the berry patch.

Retreat Powered by alternative energy:

'Off- grid'....

A small micro-hydro system on the creek , with an invertor and a bank of storage batteries keeps the retreat running perfectly.

Our Hiking Trails :

Well marked trails take you through the woods, over varied topography and out to picturesque view points.
Snowshoeing and back-country skiing make a winter visit very enjoyable for those who like the pristine outdoors.

February Snow Fall

Our Unimog and plow have the job of keeping our 1 km lane open.  Depending on the winter, Warren may spend 8 hours total plowing, OR we may get dump after dump, and it's..."pass me another coffee, Honey"..... as he goes by on another pass. We are open all year round.......Come and join us.....
